2017 is here and everyone is declaring their color(s) of the year. What colors are trending? What will be hot this year? And most importantly, which Feeney railing color is trending now?
Pantone kicked us off with their announcement of Greenery as their choice for 2017. Pantone chose Greenery “to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s executive director. She adds: “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” DesignRail® by Feeney is on-trend with our Margarita Green railing, one of our Express Yourself colors.
Benjamin Moore chose a darker view of 2017 with their pick of Shadow, a dusky dark purple, for 2017. “It ebbs and flows with its surroundings, and light brings it to life. Rich, royal amethyst can fade into the soft lilac-grey of distant mountains or morph into lustrous coal. Indulge your mysterious side. Let Shadow set the mood.” says Ellen O’Neill, Creative Director for Benjamin Moore. This color pairs beautifully with our delicate cream railing.
Sherwin Williams is more subdued with its choice of Poised Taupe to lead 2017. This taupe “creates a cozy lifestyle and brings a sense of sanctuary into our homes. It diffuses the stresses of the world outside our doors — so much so that we feel restored and in balance when we walk across our threshold.” Not only do we offer a taupe DesignRail® railing, but many of our railings pair nicely with this tone, especially our white railing.
Kelly-Moore follows the neutral trend with their pick of Kettleman, a warm dark gray hue. “Within the 2017 palette, we see an evolution of an assortment of colored dark shades inspired by nature”, said Mary Lawlor, Manager of Color Marketing. “The choosing of Kettleman by the design community as COTY 2017 validates the importance of this trend.” We think this pairs delightfully with our Not A Mellow Yellow railing, one of our Express Yourself colors for DesignRail®.
Olympic proposes a softer outlook with Cloudberry as their choice for 2017. “Home décor trends for 2017 are reflecting society’s urge to find a space apart from constant connectedness, and to create balance by establishing our homes as places to refresh,” said Dee Schlotter, PPG senior color marketing manager for our Olympic Paints & Stains brand.Its their view that Cloudberry will turn any room into a JOMO (joy of missing out) inspired space for escaping the distractions of the outside world. There are many pairing options, but we feel that our Gray and Cream DesignRail® railings fit this soothing trend best.
Glidden jumped on the trend of softer colors by proposing Byzantine Blue as the color to use in 2017. Perfect in both traditional and modern settings, we feel this color is perfectly complemented by our DesignRail® railing in black.
Val spar hedged its bets by proposing an array of trending colors for 2017, including Out of the Blue and Here Comes the Sun. These two bright and bold colors correspond to two of our Express Yourself colors for DesignRail®: Not A Mellow Yellow, and Blazing Blue. Perfectly on trend!
