Winner: Show Us Your View 2014!

Last year was our inaugural Show Us Your View contest – we put out a call for the best view photo for a chance to win up to $5,000 of DesignRail® aluminum railing. The promotion was featured in CabinLife magazine and Fine Homebuilding magazine, as well as on our website and in email newsletters.

We received a number of fantastic entrants, all of whom were ready to build a new deck railing using Feeney DesignRail®. Each entrant was required to choose a Feeney Authorized Dealer to fulfill their order should they win.

  
After much deliberation, the winning entrant for 2014 was selected: Joel Sevick in Maine!

Mr. Sevick sent in photos of his deck from every season, showcasing his fantastic view all year long. He chose Selectwood Lumber in New Hampshire as his Feeney Authorized Dealer and was very excited to get started. A green railing color was chosen to match the exterior house trim. Horizontal CableRail was chosen for an unimpeded view of the nearby river. The project was recently completed, and Mr Sevick had this to say:

“My wife and I were very excited when we were informed about winning the Show Us Your View contest. We were trying to decide on a railing for our deck and nothing we found would give us an uninterrupted view. We have a lot of wildlife in our area. We have been able to view wild turkeys with their babies, deer and even a resting red-tail hawk without scaring them since we don’t have to move from our seats on the deck. Our daughter has a 6 month old puppy who also enjoys the railing since he can see everything as well!  The Feeney system is perfect for our home. This winter, it actually made snow removal from the deck easier…..and we had a lot of snow! 

We were pleased to see our Feeney Authorized Dealer get involved in the project as well.  Said Mr. Sevick, “Dave at Selectwood was indeed very helpful.
